We like to travel light and comfy but at the same time, we want to have styles that look put together. Here are some of our favorite road trip outfits that will look great in those Instagram photos.

This insanely soft and cozy set from Anatomie was perfect for our long drives and for an elegant photo-op. The top is also an easy color to pair with a different pair of bottoms. Since the oatmeal color is neutral and has a solid pattern, it also makes it easy to accessorize with a hat.

The Simple Black Dress

You can never go wrong with a black dress. Its versatility never goes out of style and it can easily be dressed up or down. Crystal likes to layer her midi dress with a cropped denim jacket and throws on a comfy pair of white sneakers to complete her casual look.

Monochrome Minimalist

Candy’s go-to outfit usually entails an all-black ensemble. Why? Black is elegant, chic, slimming, looks great on all skin tones, and it’s the ultimate minimalist look.

This dress code also makes it easy to get dressed without a second thought. Candy likes to add different fabric textures to her black outfit or likes to add an accessory that has a pop of color.

Casual and Cool

When the temperatures are low, most of the time you’ll be wearing your jacket so your coat ends up being the hero piece. Crystal’s men-inspired checkered coat from Express is a fantastic casual yet polished style that can be thrown on over a pair of jeans and boots.

For super comfy jeans with a fantastic fit, Crystal opts for Paige jeans. Their luxuriously soft denim has plenty of stretch and powerful recovery. What does recovery mean? It means that the stretch in their denim always returns to its original shape, so none of that awkward bagginess is thereafter wearing or washing the jeans.

Pop of Color

Since we both tend to pack a lot of black garments, we like to carry a few items that have a pop of color. As much as we love wearing black, having that one element of color can make a big difference in photos. That burst of color can be a jacket, a bag/purse, or even a hat.

When we visited White Sands National Park, Crystal wore an all-black outfit, and the contrast of the white sand against her Anatomie Halsey ribbed turtleneck and black leggings made her look like a badass. Even Kuma accessorized with a black studded collar and leash from Bandolier.

Comfy Sweaters

Traveling during autumn definitely calls for some sweaters. We both carry a mix of high and low-end brands. We both appreciate the quality and affordability of Quince’s cashmere sweaters. We also wore sweaters that were purchased on Amazon.

That Puffer Coat

Our road trip consisted of varying temperatures, so having one heavy coat was a necessity. Compared to wool or leather coats, puffer jackets provide a unique combination of both warmth and lightness.

Pretty much every brand these days makes its version of puffer coats, so you definitely have a ton of options when shopping for one of these trendy coats. Candy packed her puffer coat from Amazon Essentials; whereas Crystal packed two different puffer coats: Uniqlo’s ultra-light down coat and Anatomie’s Puffer Jacket.

Both of Crystal’s puffer coats were on the lighter side and shorter in length compared to Candy’s jackets. Anatomie’s Puffer Jacket is a stylish quilted coat that has a relaxed fit but has a super flattering fit. This luxurious jacket has a ton of details like a hidden hoodie and zippered cuffs.

The Uniqlo Ultra Light Down is super lightweight but has a ton of warmth. Some notable features of this jacket include anti-static lining, water-repellent coasting, fill power of 640, and a stand collar that looks stylish with our without the removable hood.

Accessories

Packing some accessories can transform an outfit and is a great way to add a pop of color or character to a simple outfit. Wearing accessories like a hat or jewelry can transform an outfit and even elevate your look.
