There is an array of travel products out there and we have definitely gone through some products that are great (and still use today) and some that ended up being a waste of money. We put together a list of products that we take with us on our travels that are all under twenty dollars and you can get them all from Amazon.
This is a great bag to keep your cables and other small electronic accessories organized. I actually didn’t think I had that many miscellaneous cables and accessories to organize to make this bag useful, but come to find out I actually did.
It’s now one of my favorite travel accessory bags and it’s also convenient if you want to possibly avoid your bag getting stopped by security for a bag inspection.
I’ve heard that sometimes it’s difficult to distinguish what is in your bag through the CT scanner when you have tons of little things and wires scattered inside, so having this helps security see more clearly the contents of your bag.
2. Travel Jewelry Organizer $17.99
I have been traveling for years and last year I finally decided to upgrade my jewelry organizer. I used to have my own system of a do-it-yourself jewelry organizer, but there were some faults with this method I had.
One, it was somewhat tedious work. Two, some of the methods I used to keep my necklaces from getting tangled didn’t always work. I go into detail about this in the video above.
Now that I have an actual jewelry bag, it’s been so much easier to pack my jewelry. The one I have is available on Amazon and it’s a little over $20, but I put together a ton of other great options below that are under $20.
3. TSA Approved Clear Bag $8.99
In the past, I used a ziplock bag, but after one of my ziplock bags ripped from getting caught in a zipper I decided it was time to invest in an actual clear plastic bag. I read several Amazon reviews and decided on getting this one.
It’s actually pretty big and holds a lot more than the ziplock bag I was using. The zipper is durable and I like that the bag clearly states it’s TSA approved. I’ve been on multiple trips (regional and international) and have not had any issues with the bag getting cautioned for being too large.
We both have pets, so wherever we travel so does their hair. We usually pack a lint roller, but recently we discovered this handy dandy hair and lint remover that is way more compact and convenient to carry around.
We were skeptical at first that it wouldn’t work as well as the sticky sheet lint rollers, but were pleasantly surprised that it worked just as good. Having this also eliminates the need to find a trash can to throw away those used sticky sheets.
5. Camera Protective Wrap $14.89
I used to carry a backpack that was specially designed for cameras but made the switch to the Pacsafe Anti-theft Backpack a couple of years ago.
I still needed something to give my cameras and lenses some extra protection and found these awesome protective wraps on Amazon. They work great and have kept my camera equipment safe.
We don’t like seeing our phone battery hit the red zone, so having a portable charger is a must for us. Our phones tend to run low on battery especially when we are traveling since we are constantly on Google Maps or uploading clips to our Instagram Stories.
If you have an Away suitcase, you can remove the portable battery from the suitcase and toss it into your backpack or purse.
7. Plaid Blanket Scarf $14.89
This wrap is a fantastic layering piece and also a great travel item in general. It comes in handy in so many ways like using it as a blanket on cold flights and using it as a scarf to add that extra stylish element.
The fabric is also very soft and you feel very cozy with this oversized wrap. The best part is that it comes at a great price just under $15.
We like to keep our hair tools protected but it also helps that these covers are heat resistant. There are times when we are rushing to leave, but can’t pack the iron because it’s too hot.
There’s nothing more frustrating than waiting for your iron to cool down (especially when you are ready to go) so that you can pack it. Having a cover cuts that time out so you can iron or curl your hair and then immediately unplug and toss it into your luggage.
If you are the type that suffers from serious jet lag, Melatonin will help with your regular sleep cycle. We usually bring Melatonin with us on all of our international trips but one time we forgot to bring it on our trip to London.
We didn’t think it was a big deal until we discovered that Melatonin was not sold over the counter. The pharmacist informed us that Melatonin was prescribed medication in London.
Obviously, we didn’t have a prescription so the pharmacist suggested some alternatives. The alternatives weren’t that great, so now we make sure to always pack our own Melatonin.
Our little sister in Japan introduced us to the gentle steam eye mask several years ago and we were immediately hooked. It’s an innovative single-use mask that heats up (approximately 104 degrees Fahrenheit) once the packaging is opened.
It lasts for about 10-15 minutes, which is enough time to put you to sleep. It’s compact and not only perfect for traveling, but also ideal if you’ve had a long day in front of a computer screen.
You can purchase them scented or unscented and we personally like the lavender scented one. We used to buy these at the drug store every time we visited Japan but recently discovered that you can buy them from Amazon.
