Hotel Indigo Miami Brickell is located in Miami’s financial center and it is a very clean and safe area to stay in. I was looking to stay near the Consulate General of Japan in Miami and this hotel was right around the corner, so it was perfect.
Kuma, my dog, also accompanied me on this trip so I needed to stay in a pet-friendly hotel. Thankfully, all Hotel Indigo hotels are pet-friendly.
FIRST IMPRESSION
I arrived late in the evening around 8:30 PM and was greeted by a nice gentleman who helped me with my luggage. There is only valet parking available here and the cost was $30 per night. The valet staff patiently waited for me to organize my luggage. It takes me a while to get everything sorted especially when I have Kuma with me.
The check-in process was quick and smooth. I was given a room on the 14th floor Room #1405. It was located next to the elevator, which concerned me because of the potential noise from the elevator, but it was fairly quiet in the hallways for the rest of the night.
Once I was ready to go to bed around 10 PM, I started hearing some girls talking with some music, and at first, I thought this was coming from the hallways next to the elevator, but then I realized that the noise was coming from the room next door.
I could not believe how clearly I could hear the girls talking. I called the front desk and they offered another room, but I was so tired at this point that I decided to deal with it the next morning. Eventually, I did fall asleep.
The next morning, I was given another room on the same floor Room #1414. This room was definitely an upgrade and much larger with a lounge area by the entrance.
THE ROOM
Once I switched rooms the next morning, I was in love with my new room. It was located in the corner, so it was very quiet for the rest of my stay. I was surprised at how large the room was starting with a lounge area by the entrance that had a couch, table, and TV.
Next to the door was the closet area with hangers, an iron, an ironing board, a digital safe, an ice bucket, and extra blankets. This was the perfect place to store my luggage and lay out my shoes. There was also a bench next to the closet, so I was able to lay out my suitcase on this to easily access my things.
The bedroom had a nice and comfortable king-size bed with a colorful rug and a fun abstract mural on the side of the bed. Next to the bed were a couple of nightstands with an alarm clock and TV remote on one side and a wireless charging device on the other side.
In front of the bed were a large TV and a long counter space that doubled as a working desk and a Keurig coffee station. There were also drawers underneath and a hidden fridge.
The desk worked out perfectly for me since I needed to work during my stay. The WiFi was fast and reliable for Zoom meetings and the chair was comfortable.
I had a magnificent view looking out at the tall buildings of Brickell. I also had a view of the pool down below which was great so that I could see how busy the pool was.
The bathroom was also very spacious with a shower stall that had a rain shower head and handheld shower. There was also lots of counter space with standard toiletries like shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and soap.
AMENITIES
The pool and gym are both located on the 6th floor. The pool is pretty big and can accommodate many guests. The fitness center is open 24 hours and you can get a view of the pool and the buildings surrounding the hotel while running on the treadmill.
They also have a Marketplace where you can grab light snacks to go for purchase, a relaxing patio area, a business services center, a dry cleaning pickup, and complimentary newspapers.
PET-FRIENDLINESS
Pets up to 40 pounds are welcome here and the fee was $150 per pet, per stay, which was a pretty hefty price for pet fees. If you plan on staying here for a week, the pet fee is not so bad, but staying for 1-2 days is pretty expensive. Unlike Kimpton hotels, which is also an IHG hotel, they do not provide any extra amenities or gift bags for pets.
The hotel staff were all friendly towards Kuma and made sure to give her some attention when we passed by the lobby. I was glad to see that there were plenty of pet relief areas near the hotel with dog waste stations.
LOCATION
Hotel Indigo Miami Brickell is in a great location within walking distance to Brickell Miami's global financial hub and over 30 of the best restaurants, cafes, bars, shopping, and entertainment in the area.
For my purpose, this was an excellent location since it was located near the Consulate General of Japan in Miami where I needed to renew my Japanese passport. Publix is also within walking distance, so I grabbed an affordable lunch at the grocery store.
MetroRail is also located near the hotel and provides easy access to the Miami International Airport, Dadeland Mall, Coconut Grove, and other parts of the town. I took the MetroRail to Superblue Miami, which was an easy 10-minute ride to the Santa Clara station.
There’s also the free MetroMover and the free Miami Trolley that provides easy access to many additional Miami attractions.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Overall, I loved my stay here as I was able to accomplish everything I needed including getting my Japanese passport and visiting the Superblue Miami museum without having to drive my car.
There were some concerns at the beginning with my first room, but the staff was very accommodating and apologetic when it came to switching rooms and I loved my new upgraded room.
