Colorful Dunedin and Honeymoon Island of Florida

We've always loved Dunedin for being a cute and quiet town that is not only friendly to their visitors, but to their dogs as well.  This town is so dog friendly that they created a dog mural on Skip's Bar and Grill to help raise money for the Dunedin Doggie Rescue. How awesome is that!?

We spent an afternoon in Dunedin walking along Main Street and stopped by some adorable shops and restaurants. While we were enjoying our walk, the friendly trolley drove by with passengers waving hello.

We ate lunch at Casa Tina for some Mexican food and we were in a mood for some margaritas, which were excellent! The environment of this place is vibrant and festive with great customer service.

The food, on the other hand, wasn't so great. The chips and salsa were pretty good, but our fajita and enchilada entrees were mediocre. We've never had a fajita where the meat was this dry before, so it was pretty disappointing. Probably won't be going back here again, but it was fun to have some margaritas and chips! If you go here at night on a weekend, they have some great entertainment with gymnasts performing from the ceiling.

Afterwards, we walked down to the pier where you can see some manatees. You can also see dolphins by taking the Parrotdise Express Boat Tour which lasts for 2.5 hours and enjoy unlimited wine, beer, soda, coffee and water during the tour.

We couldn't leave Dunedin without stopping by Strachan's Ice Cream & Desserts for some ice cream. Very popular place with a long line, but the line goes by quickly and the ice cream is worth it! They make all of their ice cream onsite and also serve homemade fudge and their award-winning carrot cake.

In the evening, we made the 15-minute drive to Honeymoon Island (note that there's an $8 entrance fee) to enjoy the lovely beach.

This area is gorgeous with soft, white sand and shells everywhere. They even have several swing benches, which we had fun on! We ended our evening watching the beautiful sunset.
