Can you believe it’s almost Christmas? It’s that time of year where you are either ready and have your gifts wrapped or you have no idea what to get. This year we decided to put together a list and sort our recommendations by price (low to high). Everything on our list are things we love and own ourselves and would recommend to our family and friends.
Leg Warmers $8
Leg warmers are a great way to add extra warmth to your winter outfit and a great way to keep your legs warm on those annoyingly chilly flights. We went to Banff National Park earlier this year and we both purchased these simple black leg warmers from Amazon. We ordered them last minute and needed Amazon’s fast shipping so that they arrived in time for our travels. If we had more time, we would have purchased leg warmers from Uniqlo. For just $2 more, Uniqlo’s leg warmers have anti-microbial/anti-odor features.
Crystal wore this warm and comfy oversized tartan wrap to Banff National Park and received a ton of compliments. It’s a fantastic layering piece and also a great travel item in general. The fabric is soft and the design is a timeless classic.
Velvet has been a huge trend this year and it looks like it’s here to stay for a while. We absolutely love Bearpaw’s velvet hat and have been wearing it throughout the year. The pom pom is removable so during the warmer months I wear it with it off and in the winter I wear it with it on. If you are a minimalist and are trying to downsize your closet, this all-season hat is a must and great for long term travels. I love versatile accessories and the price point is very reasonable. If you have been following us, then you probably know by now that we are huge fans of Bearpaw. Their footwear is comfy, cute, and affordable. We travel a ton with our Bearpaws, but wanted to share these adorable Shae slippers we wear at home when we aren’t traveling the world. It’s very well constructed and it’s embellished with a genuine rabbit fur pom pom. The retail price is $50, but they have been on sale for a while now on Bearpaw’s site for $35. If you use the offer code CANDY20, you can get an additional 20% off your order. They are also available for purchase on Amazon. We recommend checking both sites to see who has the better deal.
Hands down our favorite travel pillow are Cabeau’s Evolution Memory Foam. We are not sponsored by Cabeau and tested out several travel pillows to make sure this was THE one. We both use the Cabeau travel pillow and wish we didn’t waste money on past travel pillows that practically had little to no support. We really appreciate the removable washable cover since those plane rides can really pick up a ton of germs.
No matter where we go, we always get asked about our Bandolier. This phone case/purse comes everywhere with us and not just on our travels. We are so used to having this phone case that we can't go anywhere without it. The back of the case has a hidden pocket to store a few of your credit cards and you can add a pouch if you want to carry more items with you. Ever since we got this case, we haven't had a single phone drop. Read more about why we love this case here.
Traveling is amazing, but having your stuff stolen isn't. Pacsafe makes anti-theft bags and there are several reasons why we love and take them everywhere with us:
Anti-theft security features for peace-of-mind
Convenient compartments
Feminine designs

Last year, we both had our DNA tested with 23andME and it revealed some surprising genes that we didn't know we had. We challenged ourselves to visit the countries where our DNA is from and this would be a fun little game for other travelers. To see what type of results 23andMe provides, check out our post here.
If you have been looking for a camera bag that doesn’t look masculine, then this Bellbrook Camera Backpack is THE bag for women. It’s so popular that it’s sold-out on the brand’s site, but not to worry as Amazon still has them in stock.
Away caught our attention a couple of years ago when we saw that their cases had a built-in USB charger. The built-in charger is removable and is up-to-date with airline regulations. The design is sleek and everything works so smoothly. The handles go up and down without that annoying snag and the Japanese Hinomoto 360-degree spinner wheels make moving this thing around a breeze. They have great customer service and the best part is their lifetime warranty.
We get asked all the time, “What is the best compact camera to travel with?” We usually use the Sony A7SII but recently found an even more compact camera that’s great for travel photos and much more affordable - the Sony RX100. There are several versions of this camera, so you can find your best fit HERE, but we personally use the RX100 IV, which shoots 4K video. This tiny camera does a great job calculating the colors and lighting even when shooting in automatic mode. It’s also one of the best cameras out there that takes exceptional photos in low-light. Another bonus is that it’s easy to take selfies with its flip screen and automatic self-timer.
Happy holidays and happy shopping!
