The Conrad Tokyo hotel in Japan is probably the most luxurious hotel we have ever stayed at. Everything about this hotel was top notch and we were impressed with just about everything the hotel had to offer. Right from the start, when we arrived, they made us feel like we were very important guests of theirs.
Getting to the Conrad Tokyo hotel is easy, but a little tricky. If you are taking the JR lines, you will get off at Shinbashi (or Shimbashi) and follow signs to Shiodome. You go through the underground passage and pass by some shops like TOWER Mini. Once you see McDonalds, you make a right (without going outdoors) and then go up the escalators to the left and Conrad Tokyo will be in front of you. This underground map will be helpful.
As soon as we started walking up to the doors with our luggage, one of the staff members came running out and grabbed our suitcases for us. He escorted us to the front desk and we checked in our luggage on the first floor. Then, another woman escorted us to the 28th floor to the main lobby area to get us checked in. We arrived pretty early and they were able to check us in at 10 AM, which I was not expecting at all. They were very accommodating with our needs and made sure we had everything we needed. After we got our room keys, once again, we were escorted to our room and the woman showed us how some things operated in the room.
The room was stunning with a little hallway leading to the bedroom and large windows overlooking the city. The bathroom was the most gorgeous hotel bathroom I have ever seen with a large, round mirror and a Victorian-style bathtub that had a glass wall so that you could see the magnificent view of the city while you took a bath.
The amenities were awesome as well. They provided the usual toiletries along with a few toothbrushes, a hairbrush, razors, green tea, bottles of water and more. My favorite was the Conrad rubber ducky that you could take into the bath with you. Such a cute touch.
As we were getting situated in the room, we heard the doorbell ring (yup, there’s a doorbell) and the staff gifted us with a little box of chocolates and peanuts welcoming our stay. They just kept on surprising us with one outstanding thing after another!
For dinner, we went to Kura Sushi, and when we got back, our room was made up again, the lights were dimmed and there was soothing music playing on the TV to get us ready for bed. There was also some pajamas and an adorable bear keychain on the bed as a gift. It was so cute that I attached it to my bag (and feel like the Japanese girls that have a bunch of cute keychains on their purses and bags).
The next morning, we had breakfast at the hotel restaurant, Cerise, and had their delicious buffet. At the time, there was a special offer of complimentary breakfast for two for each day of your stay. Usually, when hotels offer free breakfast, it's the usual pastries, fruits, cereals and drinks, but this breakfast buffet was top notch.
First of all, the view is breathtaking. We arrived early and got a spot right by the huge windows overlooking the city. The buffet was filled with delicious selections of fresh breads, salads, cheeses, cereals, Asian cuisine, American cuisine, drinks and more. We especially liked the fresh energy and vitamin drinks. The red cabbage and kale drinks were unexpectedly tasty. On top of the buffet, we got to choose an entree from their menu like Eggs Benedict, Omelette, French Toast and more.
Service was also top notch with the waiters and floor managers communicating through ear pieces. It almost seemed like they were secret service agents making sure all their customers were well taken care of. There was this one time I asked for a refill on my coffee and the waiter was very disappointed that he didn’t notice this himself and apologized for not getting me coffee sooner. I was blown away by their attention to detail.
The next day, we were out for most of the day at Snow Monkey Park, so when we returned, we were so happy to come back to our welcoming room with another cute Conrad bear keychain. We took a nice bath with the rubber ducky and relaxed in our comfy beds.
On our final morning at the hotel, we enjoyed breakfast one last time and checked out of our room. The hotel offered us late check-out at 2 PM since I was a Hilton Gold member, but since we had another full day planned, we just left our luggage with the hotel. They informed us that if we needed, we could use their fitness and spa facility to take a shower before leaving, which was super nice of them to offer. Seriously, the best hotel ever!
I wish we could have enjoyed this hotel more, but we were limited on our time in Japan. Although, we did cross off a couple things from our list so that we could enjoy the hotel a bit more than originally planned. We were sad to leave Conrad Tokyo because we loved it so much and were treated like royalty. We will definitely be staying here again when we're back in Tokyo.
Bonus: If you love Japanese gardens, you must visit the Hamarikyu Gardens right by the hotel. The gardens are located right along Tokyo Bay featuring ponds, maple trees, ginkgo trees and a little teahouse where you can enjoy some tea by the water. We were lucky enough to see the vibrant fall colors of the leaves as it was the end of the foliage season.
Thank you Conrad Tokyo for such a memorable stay and for being so accommodating with all of our needs. You are truly amazing!
