Uniqlo is an apparel company that focuses on innovative fabrics, up-to-date fashion, and affordable price points.
We’ve been fans of Uniqlo long before they established a global presence, so when we found out that there was a Uniqlo Flagship store within walking distance from our hotel we made plans to check it out.
This newly renovated Uniqlo store in Ginza is massive and is Uniqlo’s official flagship store. It’s an impressive lifestyle and shopping hub with a total of 12 floors.
Even if you are not into shopping, the Life Wear installations on every floor are like a museum exhibit. We didn’t have the time (or energy) to shop all twelve floors, so this list only highlights the floors we explored.
Level 1: LifeWear SQUARE
We entered the building from this floor, so we obviously couldn’t skip it. The T-shirt installation at the entrance immediately grabs your attention and draws you right into the store.
As we were making our way to the escalators, we walked by the wall of moving clothing items. The way they designed this wall was so creative and we were particularly mesmerized by the rotating sock installation. I typically don’t find myself eager to shop for socks, but this definitely made me want to look at their collection of socks.
Level 2: Season Selection
There was a mix of women's and men’s wear on this floor. It’s where you’ll find their newest collection of styles.
Level 3 - 5: Women
In the next few levels, you will find women’s casual styles and bottoms. On the 5th floor, you’ll have access to their “Custom Corner”. I initially thought “Custom Corner” was where you went to get your denim altered, but quickly realized that it was not.
“Custom Corner” is where you can enjoy special customization like adding embroidery text or unique icons to T-shirts or tote bags. It’s a way to express yourself with a unique creation or make a thoughtful gift for someone special.
Level 6: Women’s Inner / Room - Heattech
Candy’s favorite HEATTECH is on this floor and it has been a staple in both our wardrobes for several years now. The fabric is revolutionary as it works with your body to generate and retain body heat and it also features anti-odor properties.
The anti-odor really works and it’s especially great for travel. We can wear HEATTECH tops for 2-3 days before having to toss them in the washer.
Level 7: Kids & Baby
We don’t have kids, so we skipped this section, but we did see some cute Doraemon installations.
Level 8- 10: Mens
We skipped these levels as well; however, if you are looking for custom tailoring, they have it here. They offer a custom order salon where you can order a custom-made suit.
Level 11: UT Store - Graphic T-Shirts- Ginza Collaboration Products
We spent the majority of our time on this floor. On the 11th floor, you’ll find colorful pop-culture T-shirts displayed in clear, silver-lined frames. There are a bunch of anime T-shirts including SPY x FAMILY, One Piece, Bleach, Attack on Titan, and so much more.
We really liked the Ginza Collaboration products, which bring together Uniqlo with some of its most famous neighbors to create a special range of T-shirts and tote bags. We loved the Kabukiza Theater collaboration, but the items we wanted were sold-out.
Level 12: Special Floor - Uniqlo Coffee - Lounge
On this floor, you’ll find a coffee shop and a nice relaxing lounge. The coffee stand brews high-quality beans and also sells butter cookies from the famous Ginza West, a long-established pastry shop in Ginza.
The Lounge faces the bustling streets of Ginza, which looks especially cool at night. It’s a great place to take a break from shopping.
Final Thoughts
We had plans to just make a quick stop but underestimated just how much time is needed here. Being the world’s largest global flagship store, they offered the widest selection of UNIQLO products and services. We recommend spending at least two hours here if you want to get the full experience.
