Anatomie: Behind-The-Scenes of the Luxury Travel Attire

It is hard to believe it’s already been three years since we tried on our first pair of Anatomie pants…the Andrea Contrast Panel Leggings to be specific. Since then, our Anatomie collection has grown and continues to expand as their styles are super versatile and have the most amazing fit.
All of Anatomie’s garments are wrinkle-free, lightweight, and quick-dry with outstanding stretch, so it’s our go-to attire for travel. The best part is that you don’t have to sacrifice style to enjoy these amazing qualities. Their styles are effortless, timeless, and super functional for both travel and everyday wear.
After all these years working together, we never had the chance to meet each other in person… until now. The founders and creatives, Shawn and Kate Boyer, invited us to their headquarters in Miami, Florida, and we were super excited to finally meet them!
Shawn and Kate are a husband and wife team and they are both incredibly sweet and passionate about their brand. They both have an extensive background in activewear, so it’s no wonder they eventually found each other and joined forces to combine activewear and luxury fabrics into their apparel.
We weren’t sure what to expect when we first arrived at the headquarters, but once we did, we were blown away with all the creative vibes and collections in their workspace. We got an in-depth view of how they start from concept to production and it was all so fascinating to see and learn.
We also got a sneak peek of their upcoming 2021 collection and cannot wait for it to come out. We have always loved Shawn’s coat and jacket designs and this collection looks even more sleek and stylish that we want it all.
In-House Anatomie Store
When we entered Anatomie headquarters, we were surprised to see an in-house Anatomie store where we were able to view and try on their current collection. We weren’t expecting a full-on shopping experience, so that was a really nice surprise. We do 99% of our shopping online, so it was great to be able to try on all the different styles immediately.
We had such a great time sampling different styles and practically fell in love with every piece. Anatomie has more than 400 specialty store locations throughout the U.S. and hosts several pop-up shops throughout the year. The best way to stay up-to-date is through their social channels.
Office Space
This is where the planning, marketing, purchasing, merchandising and overall operations are executed. We got a glimpse of each individual office and enjoyed seeing the mood boards and company statements. We spotted a couple of photos of us on their office wall, which caught us by surprise because we were on the exact same board as Jamie Lee Curtis! Needless to say, we felt honored.
Design Room
The design room was where we got a sneak peek of the upcoming Fall 2021 collection and where the designs come to life. There were walls of sample fabrics where you can feel and visualize the texture and color of the fabrics. It’s like you are in a full-on fashion laboratory. We imagine it must be so exciting to be able to be a part of the Anatomie team designing new and exciting garments year after year. We both spotted several jackets in the 2021 collection that we are dying to get our hands-on.
Warehouse
If you are wondering if Anatomie outsources its warehouse, they do not. Everything ships directly from their headquarters in Miami, Florida. This is where we met Pedro, the warehouse manager and he was awesome.
Every time we wanted to try on an Anatomie piece, he knew exactly where everything was and would have it out in a flash. It’s a big warehouse so he definitely knows this place in and out.
Final Thoughts
We are so grateful to have met the Anatomie team and have an even greater appreciation for the brand. They are an amazing small business and are one of the fastest-growing companies in the U.S., which is no small achievement.
We believe that part of their success is due to their strong passion for their brand and listening to their customers on what they truly want in stylish travel clothes. They genuinely enjoy connecting with their supporters and we definitely sensed that during our stay in Miami.
