Top 15 Photos That Captures the Essence of Havana Cuba

I have been wanting to visit Cuba for years and when airlines started offering direct flights from Tampa to Cuba, I knew I had to go. As soon as I got off the plane and stepped foot onto Cuba, I was overcome with excitement. The architecture, history and the people are everything I had imagined. Here are my top 15 photos that captured the essence of Havana:

Drawings of Che are all over Havana

Early mornings in Old Havana is the best time for walks

The police of Cuba are on every corner of Old Havana

So much beautiful architecture to take in

Cubans love to pose for photos - this man just turned 61

Mojitos are everywhere you go in Havana - they put an entire stem of mint in the cocktail

You hear music everywhere you go in Havana

Caught this man staring at me, so I had to take a picture of his intense stare

Friendly Cubans having an afternoon chat as they sell items from their shops

Typical streets of Old Havana outside of the tourist area

The colorful buildings of Havana are what Cuba is well known for

Old classic cars were always surrounded by tourists i n Old Havana

The architecture within some of these hotels are just as impressive as the exterior

We saw a lot of drawings of Che and other political leaders on many buildings

The buildings within the tourist locations are well kept, but once you step outside of the tourist zone, you will see many run-down buildings like this
